Eyrarbakki is a charming seaside village with historical significance. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, it was the center of trade between Iceland and Denmark, but now it’s a quiet and peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle of the capital and the ring road.
People come all the way from the capital to dine at our local restaurant, Rauða Húsið (the Red House), but it’s just 5 minutes’ walk from Bakki Apartments & Hostel. As our guest, you get a 10% discount off anything on the menu.
Our handy reference guide to everything from where to buy groceries, family-friendly activities, favorite soaks, and more.
Enjoy horse riding, ATV tours, skiing, snowmobiling, glacier hiking, cave exploration, dogsledding, snorkeling or scuba diving, all within an hour’s drive of here.
