More about us

I felt really confortable in your hostel. The jam session un the evenings was also very cool 😉 thank you I had a very nice stay and would repeat. Good work guys!
Places to see in the village: the local church, a square close to the church where there is a statue to a local person of relevance (can’t remember his name it was in Icelandic!) and his fish. Walking along the path bordering the beach, with the salty smell of the sea, thinking or just relaxing, is an experience I would recommend too. I think there must be good bird watching in the area too, for those interested.

We stayed in a wonderful apartment. Our host was friendly and helpful, the apt. Was perfect and Eyrarbakki was a lovely quiet town 45 minutes from many activities! Included breakfast was fantastic. Would love to come back!
Although this is a small town, it is an easy drive to many locations and activities: ponies, hot springs, historic sites, and it is right on a dramatic black rock/sand beach.

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Felt so much at home and wished I could have stayed longer! Awesome!!
Although Eyrarbakki seems a little far off, it is not! You can reach Reykjavík and Selfoss easily and enjoy your stay in this hostel!
I had no time to try this famous restaurant in town but I definitely would next time!

I’ve travelled the world an this is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The amenities are wonderful. Huge well stocked kitchen, clean comfortable dorm rooms with individual lights and outlets, fast internet, and kind, helpful, and friendly owners! A great place to stop when you are driving ring road! Lovely!
It’s a splurge but check out Rauda Husid for wonderful and fresh seafood!

This is a brand new hostel and the facilities are clean and very well built/designed. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed staying in this hostel and in the small town, which is a perfect area to view Northern Lights. It’s not too far from the airport and close to the main highway.

Amazing place to stay, beautiful photography on the walls, warm and cosy. Go to the Red House for some food, really tasty. Go and see the cool lighthouse down the road…

– William from the UK

Hands down the best hostel I’ve stayed in. Very clean, kitchen was well equipped, showers were lovely. Quite close to the Geysir and the waterfall by car. There are a few board games provided, generally everything was pretty perfect for my stay.

– Emilie

Beautiful and smart designed house. Feels more like someone’s personal guest house than a hostel.

– Verena

Very nice and clean apartments, big rooms, really helpful staff. Wonderful restaurant with seafood, close to the sea, quiet place.

– Joanna from Poland

Amazing facilities, very very nice hostel with even better staff. Totally recommend.
